Register for the Carbon Strategy  Challenge on the PropTech Challenge Website.  Please use the specific submission form associated with each respective problem set.  Create or update functioning software that solves a problem for real estate owners, managers, and developers in one of the respective categories which can be found using the respective links below:

Judging Criteria

New York needs new solutions that will help avoid expensive and disruptive installations associated with building decarbonization. Building operators need new tools to facilitate more ambitious climate goals and improved situational awareness for new team members.

 

A judging panel comprised of industry leaders will review all submissions to determine the finalists. Each entry will be judged according to the following criteria:

  • Value to Industry / Solves Existing Problems (10 pts) – Does the submission clearly describe the problem(s), the solution(s), the business case, and relevant market actors?

  • Benefit to Carbon Strategy (10 pts) – Does the submission enable more ambitious climate goals and improved situational awareness for operations team members?

  • Innovation / Creativity / Originality (10 pts) – Does the submission include novel technologies, approaches, or applications?

  • Practical Implementation (10 pts) – Does the submission leverage existing infrastructure, processes, or personnel without excessive added costs? 

  • Quality of Submission Materials (5 pts) – Does the submission address all 12 prompt questions with clear explanations, examples, and case studies?
